For the last decade every new gesture-based computer interface has been hyped as the dawn of a Minority Report revolution. But none has come close to giving true gesture control over our computers – until now. An unassuming box, the Leap plugs into your PC or Mac via USB and beams a stream of infra-red light into the air, creating a 3D 'interaction space'. Interrupt this stream with your fingers, and the Leap's software will accurately translate your movements into on-screen actions. The Leap claims to be accurate down to one hundredth of a millimetre, and if it turns out to be as accurate as the incredible demo video, we'll lose days just playing with Google's new 3D maps.
